20 Week Belly

So here is my belly at 20 weeks! It's getting bigger by the day too. I'm still not feeling too much movement from little Suzie, but the doctor said it's still pretty early. I found a pic of my sis when she was 20 weeks pregnant and she was wearing the same shirt! (Thanks for letting me borrow all your clothes Deece!) So I thought it would be fun to post both pics as a comparison. oh the joy of being short and having nowhere for baby to go but straight out!

How Do You Spell Souix-zee?

So now that we have actually given our baby girl a name, the debate between Kyle and myself has come down to, how will we spell her name?? Cast your vote to the right help us decide:)

That's right! Yesterday Kyle and I went to the Dr. for my 19 week check up and they did a very thorough ultrasound. Dr. Frields is very confident that in less than five months we will be the proud parents of a precious baby girl! We couldn't be more excited to welcome Suzie Lorraine Sanderson (named after both of our moms) into our lives in October.

One thing you can be praying for is that while everything else looked great, Dr. Frields did notice that there is a possible Ventricular Septal Defect in Suzie's heart. It is a very small hole that goes between the two chambers of the heart. He didn't have the greatest angle so he wants to check next time. He said that it is not uncommon and most of the time these holes just close on their own. If he sees it more clearly on the next ultrasound he is going to refer me to an echocardiologist just to follow up. If they do deteremine there is a VSD and it doesn't close on it's own, he said that it is very treatable and nothing to worry about...(but I think being tempted to worry comes with the territory of being a mom!) Dr. Frields said there is nothing they can do to treat it while she is in the womb, and they would just wait until she is born and monitor her from there. Again, it may close on it's own or it may be too small to affect her in any way. Or, they would have to operate somewhere down the line, which he said is the most basic of heart surgerys and again, nothing to be too concerned about. But please pray for us and for Suzie! We know she is in the best care in the world...our heavenly Father's care! He loves her more than we ever will and we want to grow in our faith and trust of Him.

Let the Belly Shots Begin!

Yesterday I had my third doctor's appointment! Everything seems well and I heard the healthy little heartbeat once again that Dr. Frields' said couldn't have sounded better. I am in my second trimester now and doing well!

I have been doing a lot of blog surfing lately and have really enjoyed seeing all the tummy shots of expectant mothers in each stage of their pregnancy. So I decided to cave in and be one of those women who posted belly shots for each stage too! Plus, I've had a few special requests for it:)


This is my fifteen week belly! I thought it would be good to start now, even though I look more like I have a pooch than I do pregnant! The fact that I'm wearing all black does hide it a little though. But I've been told I'm going to pick up speed here really soon and my belly will get much larger in very short period of time! So in a few weeks when I post another picture, I'm sure there will be a huge difference.

Four weeks from yesterday we should be able to determine the gender of the baby! Cast your vote on the right side if you have a guess what we're having. I'm still feeling good other than being very tired and I'm so thankful to God for all His many blessings!

Another Glimpse of Baby Sanderson

Kyle and I were able to go for our second doctor appointment last Thursday. I was one day away from being 11 weeks along and here are the pictures we got of our little one! It's a huge difference from the first picture we got. We can make out the little arms and legs now, which were frantically moving around the whole time we were watching. Everything seems to be going well and I am still feeling great, except for some fatigue. Thanks for your prayers!

October 10, 2008 is a day that we are anxiously awaiting. Why? Because this is the day that our first child is due! Since our anniversary is on 11/11, I think it would be very convenient if baby Sanderson decided to head on into the world on his/her due date, 10/10, but when does that ever happen??

We weren't supposed to have our first doctor's appointment for a few more weeks, but because I came down with a very bad case of the flu a couple of weeks ago, our doctor wanted us to come in early just to make sure everything was okay. And boy am I glad he did! We were able to hear the heartbeat and see the baby! At least, they told us what we were seeing was the baby. I definitely need to learn how to scan these ultrasound pictures into my computer because the picture below is very hard to see. But since our child is the size of a blueberry right now, it's pretty hard to see even when you're looking at the real photo:) The baby is the skinny section on the right next to the round thing. I'll post again after my next appointment!

And Two Will Become Three

A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of being able to have our niece Shelby stay the night with us. We had a fun time playing mom and dad! Here are some pics of her at our home:)

In fact, we had such a great time, we decided we didn't want to just play mom and dad, but we want to be mom and dad! That's right...we are going to have a baby! I'm only 6 weeks along, and we don't get to see the doctor for another 3 weeks, but we are so excited for this new chapter in our lives. Please pray for us! We'll keep you posted:)
